Hello, i just graduated in computer science and i will start a master in cybersecurity in september, but i wanted to start learning on my own since i'm free for a few months. I've been reading a lot of posts where people say TryHackMe is more beginner friendly for novice while HackTheBox is harder. My concern is that i'm not a total noob because like i said i just finished studying computer science at university, but my degree was of course more focused on development rather than security so i don't know most of the tools available for security purposes. Keeping that in mind would you suggest TryHackMe or HackTheBox? And if HTB should i start from HackTheBox or the HTB Academy? I'm planning on getting a subscription for one of those 3 services so please don't just give a "This is better" answer, i'd like to know why you think it's better not just what is better. I'm looking forward for your answers, thank you very much!
Edit: Also i've read that HTB Academy is currently giving certificates but i don't really care about those at the moment, so don't take them in mind in the equation, thank you!
Edit2: I don't mind if HTB is more challenging, i will probably enjoy it anyway, my main concern is that in order to solve a problem, i could need tools that i don't even know exists, so i won't be able to progress. Is this an actual concern or am i overthinking it? submitted by /u/kevinverde123
